4th February> A seminar on “Cancer and its prevention” held at CCHRC to observe “World Cancer Day”. Two Students and two teachers from Schools participated in the programme to serve as a spring board to start anti-tobacco activates at their schools. Resource persons : Dr. Ravi Kannan, Dr. Gopal Datta, Dr. Anjna Surath, Dr. Jadunath Buragohain. At morning of this day Dr. H.M. Iqbal bahar addressed at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Silchar on cancer and the effects of the use of tobacco during their morning assembly.

6th February> Three days Residential Training Programme on Social Issues and “Cancer and it’s Prevention” at Probhuram M.E. School, Dugrubasti, Palonghat, Cachar, Assam , organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Cachar, Silchar in coordination with Shib Durga Club, Dugrubasti, Palonghat. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ravi Kannan. Dr. Ravi Kannan conducted 2 hours session on Cancer and its prevention. More than 25 members of 12 different clubs members attended in this programme. Mr. Kalyan Chakraborty also delivered speech at this function. Staff attended : Tapan Roy

7th February> Maruari Teru Panth Mahila Mangal Sangha organized a health awareness camp and cancer awareness camp at community at Babu Tilla near REC. Dr. Gopal. Datta addressed the gathering about ill effects of tobacco and its use and early detection of cancer. Staff attended : Mr. Abijit Nath.

9th February> A cancer awareness camp organized by the PROGOTI , NGO, at Irongmera. General public, students & teachers from High School , public leaders from this locality took part of this awareness camp. Resource person attended : Dr. H.M. 14th February> A cancer awareness camp cum health camp jointly organized by Dungripar MC club and Nabajagaran sangha at 786 No. Dungirpar Navajeevan LP school. About 150 nos. patient undertook health check up. Free medicines are distributed among the patients. Doctors attended on behalf of CCHRC : Dr. Anjna Surath, Dr. Jadunath Buragohain, Dr. Himajit Barman and Dr. .D. Sankar, Mr. Bijay Kumar Das, Member of CCHS attended at the camp. 16th February> A cancer awareness camp organized by student of Socials works dept. of A.U.at the Baraband Madrasa, Hailakandi, More that 10 teachers and 40 students most of them girls from this Madrasa participated. Dr. Anjna Surath and Dr. Gopal Datta of CCHRC serve as resource persons. Four stuents from A.U. and Mr. Anil Singh & Tapan Kr. Roy, staff of CCHRC attended at the camp.

24th February> 14th Anniversary of the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre observed at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Meherpur, Silchar-15, Cachar, Assam. Many distinguished guest like Mr. Kutub Ahmed, MLA, Sonai, Mr. Kanad Purkayastha, son of Mr. Kabindra Purkayastha, M.P. (L.S), Mr. Dipak Bhattacharjee, Ex-MLA, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Members of the Governing Body, of CCHS, Chairman , Advisory Committee of CCHS and more than 250 ladies and gentleman of the Cachar district attended at this programme. A cultural programme is also performed . Staff of the hospital and Ms.Seetha Lakshmi Kannan & Ms. Andolika participated at this cultural programme. 25th February> A cancer awareness programme was organized jointly by NYK, Cachar district and Sabuj Sangha, Borkhala. Dr. Ravi Kannan, Director of the Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, discussed among the attended NGO’s representatives/ members about the ill effect of tobacco and early prevention, detection, treatment of cancer, and find the way to working together to spread the message and public awareness. 2rd March> Former employee Lt. Renuka Bhattacharjee in her memory her relative Ms. Minoti Bhattacharjee donated Rs. 2 (two) lakhs for the development of CCHRC and patient care

3rd March> Clinical Society Meeting will be held on 03-03-2010 (Wednesday) at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Meherpur, Doctors are participated in this meeting.

4th March to 6th March> Dr. Kannan Attended at IIM at Indore and made a presentation on “Medical Issues and problems related to the North East with reference to the Cancer” on 5th March, 2010.

7th March> A cancer awareness and health check up camp organized by Pioneer Club, Barjalanga, Cachar, Assam. More than 200 people took part in health check up camp. Dr. Ravi Kannan, Dr. Jadunath Buragohain, Dr. Anjna Surath, Mr. Debabrata Dutta took part in this camp.

8th March> Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donor Forum organized Women’s Blood Donation Camp in the eve of World Women’s Day. Dr. Pronoti Dhar, Ms. Seetha Lakshmi Ravi, Dr. Anjna Surath took part at this blood donation camp.

8th March> Church Road Mahila Samiti organized a cancer awareness programme among the members at the eve of World Women’s Day. Dr. Ravi Kannan, Director of the cancer hospital was invited as chief guest and requested to deliver a speech on cancer awareness, early detection, prevention and treatment and and common cancer amongst women.

12th March> Dr. Kannan was attended as Chief Guest of International Trade Fare held at Gandhibag, Silchar. Mr. Kalyan Chakraborty also accompanied with Dr. Kannan as invitee.

19th to 26th March> A cancer awareness stall was set up at the International Trade Fare at India Club Ground Silchar. Posters and banners are displayed at this stall. Mr. Kalyan Chakraborty, Mr. Rajib Dey, Mr. Anil Singh, Mr. Debabrata Dutta, Mr. Tapan Roy, Mr. Batscam Lyngthoi attended in this stall.

24th, 25th, 26th March> Basic Volunteer Training Workshop held at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Meherpur, Silchar-15, Airmed at being a starting point for anyone interested in volunteering (giving time, effort and talent to a cause without monetary benefits), It will include discussion on being a volunteer, skills involved different aspects of volunteering and working with cancer care. 28th March> A cancer awareness camp and health check up camp held at Bagpur High School. About 500 local people (inhabitants) took part in this health check up camp. Medicines were also distributed. 29th, 30th, 31st March> Workshop for the Registry Staff of CCHRC held on 29th to 31st March. The motto was to train the Registry Staff regarding home visit, documentation and information collection. 13th April> Training of Asha, ANM, Asha facilitator on Maternal Death Reviews of Lakhipur Block PHC, Venue – Community Hall, Pailapool, Date : 12-04-2010, Attended Resource persons : Dr. Anjana Surath, Ms. Seetha Lakshmi R. addressed the gathering of more than 300 Nurses and village health workers about ill effects of using tobacco, cancer early detection, protection and treatment and also discussed about a role of a village health worker for early detection and treatment of cancer, ill effects of tobacco use.

25th April> A health check up camp and cancer awareness camp held at Choto Dudh Patil Primary School. Local people took part at health check up camp. 2nd May> Silchar Division Insurance Workers’ Organisation, Silver Jubilee Conference held at Ashirbad Bhavan, Park Road, Silchar (Sunday) at 6. P.m. Dr. Ravi Kannan, attended at this conference as the Chairman of the Reception Committee of this Silver Subilee Conference and addressed in the gathering.

8th May> Dr. Anjan Surath and Dr. Jadumoni Buragohain and Dr. Pronoy Nath attended Health check up camp at HPC, Panchgram. They took part in Screening of ladies and wives of employees of HPC.

5th june to 17th july> Mr. Amit Das, Ms. Gayatree Roy, Ms. Priyaya Choudhury of Tumour Registry went to Chennai to take advance tranning for ICMR project. They stayed there from 05-06-10 to 06-07-10. Then they went to Bangalore for further trnning. They stayed there from 07-07-10 to 17-07-10.

12th june> Four trainee from Tara Cancer foundation, Howrah ,West Bengal namely Ms. Sima Rani Bera (Social Worker), Ms. Dipanwita Das (Social Worker), Ms. Mithu Rani Ghosh (Nurse), Ms. Lakshmi Rana (Nurse) arrived at CCHRC.

19th june> A Cheque of Rs.5 lac from LIC Golden Jubliee Foundation handed over to Dr.Ravi Kannan, Director CCHRC by senior Divisional Manager, LICI, silchar divisional office on 19-06-10.

2nd July> Ms. S.Prathap, Physicist & Mr. Titu Dutta, Radiation Technologist of Radiation department of CCHRC went to Dibrughar to undertake advanced tranning to handle Co-60 Cobalt therapy machine organized by M/S. Kriloskar Technology.

10th july> Dr. Ravi Kannan, Director CCHRC attended celebration of the foundation day of Bharat Vikash Parishad at silchar. They falicitate Dr. Kannan on 10th july 2010, Saturday at 7-30 pm at Hotel Indraprastha Regency, Lochan Bairagi Road, silchar in recognition for unparallel selfness dedication on medical services to the humanity.

23rd july> Dr.Ravi Kannan attended 7th Installation Ceremony of Inner Sheel Club, Silchar as the Guest of Honour. This ceremony was held at Rotary Heart Care Centre,silchar, Tarapur.

25th july> Cancer Awarness Camp & detection camp held at Moniarkhal a class primary school. 14th August> A cancer awareness programme as a part of 'no tobacco month' is held at Pensioners Bhawan at karimganj organised by Indian Red Cross Society, Karimganj. 15th August> Independence day was observed at the Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. In the morning National Flag was unfolded by Dr. Chinmoy Choudhury, Secretary,CCHS. Dr. Ravi Kannan, Director of CCHRC, Dr. Pronoti Dhar, Dr. Gopal Datta was delivered their valuable speech on this occasion. In the afternoon a carrom competition & at the evening a culture programme including patriotic song, dance & play among staffs of CCHRC held at this occasion. Whole programme was conducted with the active initative by Ms. Seetha Lakshmi Ravi.

16th August> A Cancer awareness programme was organized by "DREAMS"-a socio cultural organisation, Hailakandi at the Narrul Bhawan, Hailakandi at 7-00 pm. 17th August> At 8-00 am. Dr.Dinesh Ch Goswami delivered lecture on pain & Palliative care among staffs of CCHRC. Mrs. Pallat also delivered speech at Evening at a gathering at CCHRC.

17th August> Students from social Works Dept. of A.U. Visited at this hospital. Forty students with thier professor of their Professor of this visited all depts. of CCHRC to Know about the patient & treatment facilities available at this hospital. They also meet & talk with the patients. The Whole programme was systematically arranged & managed by Ms.Seetha Lakshmi Ravi.

17th August> A Cancer awareness programme as a part of 'no tobacco month' is held at Arkatipur High School at Arkatipur. Students & teachers of Arkatipur H.S. & local people at this area are attended at this programme. The students from social works dept. of A.U namely Mr. Pappu Chakraborty, Ms. Rasida Begum, Ms.Sukanya Nandi Purkayastha, Ms. M.Baby Chanu, Mr. Durga Dutta Singha arranged this awareness camp.

22nd August> A Screening & awareness camp held at Borjalinga Tea Estate, Borjalinga. This Screening & awareness camp was organized by the Borjalinga Tea Estate authority.
A good number of people from Tea labour community took part at this camp. Medicine also distributed among the labourers. One person is suspected as cancer patient.

31th August> 'No Tobacco Day' as a part of the 'No Tobacco Month' observed on 31-08-2010. At 9-00 p.m. a motorbike rally started from CCHRC & move via Rangirkhari, Premtola, Shillongpatty & Sadarghat to Udharband. Rally was started by Prof. Dilip Dey by cutting a ribbion.
Members of NGOs like Zero Boys Club, Friends Club, Barak Art & Cart Society, Morning Club ( Udharband), Doctors & Staff of CCHRC also took part at this rally.
At the end of the rally Morning Club of Udharband organized a awareness camp at udharband Bazar where Dr. Ravi Kannnan,Dr. Chinmoy Choudhury & Dilip Kr Dey address the gathering about the ill effects of tobacco.

31th August> After the end of rally a Cancer awareness programme as a part of NO tobacco month held at Durga Nagar Higher Secondary School at Udharband. Dr. Chinmoy Choudhury, Dr. Ravi Kannan, Prof. Dilip Kr Dey, Ms. Seetha Lakshmi Ravi, Principal of the Durganagar H.S.S address the students & Pupils about the ill effects of tobacco. Mr. Subhas Bhattacharjee & Ms. Bharati Roy, Ex-Student of the school also speak at this occasion.
At 2-30 p.m. A discussion with NGOs & Schools. The discussion will be with invited NGOs & School to discuss specific ways in which they can help with no tobacco activities. More than 30 representatives from School & NGOs participated at this discussion.

At 6-30 p.m. A formal function held at CCHRC. Dr.Chinmoy Choudhury, Dr. Ravi Kannan, Dr. Sanjib Sikdar, Ms. Subhas Choudhury address the gathering about no use of tobacco. Students of social Works Dept. of A.U. took part in Cultural programme. Whole programme as conducted by Ms. Seetha Laksmhi Ravi.

27th Sep> A Cancer awareness camp was organized by Town & Country Planning dept, public school road, silchar- 5.
They Donated a sum of Rs-15,000/- for the hospital development fund. A good number of SHG groups attended at this programme.
